Artisan Grill Repair & Service
California-built 304 stainless gas grills from the company behind Alfresco, priced below Alfresco.
About Artisan
Artisan is a line of 304 stainless steel gas grills built in Southern California by Superior Equipment Solutions (SES), the same company that makes Alfresco. Artisan grills come out of the same factory and share engineering with Alfresco, but they cost less. Retailers often call it the affordable luxury option.
The lineup has three tiers. American Eagle is the basic line, with battery ignition and no lights. The Artisan series adds 110V ignition, halogen hood lights and a rotisserie kit. Professional adds a rear infrared burner, lit knobs and a heavier rotisserie motor. All three use U-shaped stainless burners over ceramic briquettes, double-lined hoods and welded seams, and come as built-ins or on carts. Buyers are usually homeowners building an outdoor kitchen who want an American-made stainless grill without paying Alfresco, Lynx or Kalamazoo prices. Artisan sits in the mid tier, and Professional models reach into premium.
History
Artisan grills are built by Superior Equipment Solutions (SES), a Southern California manufacturer founded more than two decades ago. SES also owns Alfresco and Capital Cooking. Artisan was set up as a lower-priced sister brand to Alfresco, made in the same California facility. It started with the American Eagle and Professional series and later added a middle Artisan series. SES has since bought Memphis Wood Fire Grills, and Memphis now sells through the same dealer network as Artisan.

Who makes Artisan grills?
Artisan grills are made by Superior Equipment Solutions (SES) in Southern California, the same company and factory that make Alfresco grills.
What is the difference between Artisan American Eagle and Professional?
American Eagle is the basic model, with battery ignition and no lights. Professional adds halogen lights, lit knobs, a rear infrared burner and a rotisserie, and comes in sizes up to 42 inches.
Should I replace the ceramic briquettes in my Artisan grill?
Yes. Briquettes break down and soak up grease over time, which can cause flare-ups and uneven heat. A technician can replace the briquettes and their tray during a deep cleaning.
