Broil King Grill Repair & Service
A family-owned Canadian brand making heavy-built gas and pellet grills in North American factories.
About Broil King
Broil King is the grill brand of Onward Manufacturing Company, a family business based in Waterloo, Ontario. It is best known for freestanding gas grills with heavy cast aluminum cookboxes, stainless Dual-Tube burners and thick cooking grids, and it also sells pellet grills, charcoal units and built-in grill heads.
Broil King sits in the mid tier. Its Baron line competes with mid-range big box grills, Regal steps up in features, and Imperial is the top line with built-in heads and full grill centers. Buyers tend to be homeowners who want a sturdier grill than entry-level models without jumping to luxury stainless brands. Parts are easy to source, and the grills are generally simple to service. Built-in heads and grill islands let owners carry the brand into an outdoor kitchen.
History
Theodore Adam Witzel founded the company in 1906 in Berlin, Ontario, the city later renamed Kitchener. His son joined in 1936 and kept the business going through the Second World War. In 1985 the company shifted its focus to designing, building and selling Broil King barbecues. It added US factories in Indiana in 2009 and Tennessee in 2012. The founder's grandsons joined in the late 1970s and still run the company.
