Firegear Fire Pit Repair & Service
Gas fire pit burner kits, ignition systems, fire bowls and tables, now part of Earthcore (Isokern).
About Firegear
Firegear Outdoors makes gas fire pit burner systems and finished outdoor fire products. It is best known for burner kits used in custom-built fire pits: round and square pans, Line of Fire linear T and H burners, and brass Pro Series burners. These are paired with match-lit, electronic or flame-sensing spark ignition systems. Firegear also sells fire bowls, fire pit tables, outdoor fireplaces and fire glass.
Its main buyers are hardscape contractors, landscapers and hearth dealers building stone or block fire pits, and homeowners who want to convert a fire pit to gas. Finished tables and bowls are sold to homeowners through dealers and online retailers. Firegear sits in the mid tier: it costs more than generic burner kits but far less than custom architectural fire features.
History
Firegear was started in the early 2000s by founder Dennis G. Smith. In January 2013, Skytech II, an Indiana maker of hearth control systems, bought key assets of Fire Gear LLC, and Smith stayed on to lead the brand. In February 2026, Earthcore Industries of Jacksonville, Florida, the maker of Isokern fireplaces, bought Firegear along with a 57,000 square foot plant in Huntington, Indiana. Firegear production is staying in Huntington.
