Lennox Fireplace Repair & Service

Former Lennox International brand of gas and wood fireplaces and stoves, now under Innovative Hearth Products.

About Lennox

Lennox Hearth Products was the fireplace and stove business of HVAC maker Lennox International. It sold gas fireplaces, wood-burning fireplaces, inserts, gas log sets, and stoves under the Lennox name and several acquired brands, including Superior, Marco, Whitfield, Earth Stove, and Country Stoves. Lennox fireplaces were common in tract homes built in the late 1990s and 2000s.

Today Lennox is a legacy name. The business was sold in 2012 and merged into Innovative Hearth Products (IHP), which makes the Superior, Astria, IronStrike, and Comfort Flame brands. Many older Lennox units share parts with Superior and Astria models, and replacement parts are still sold through hearth parts distributors. Homeowners with a Lennox fireplace usually need repair or a retrofit rather than a new purchase. It sat in the mid-market.

History

Lennox International set up its hearth business in 1994. It bought Superior Fireplace, Marco Manufacturing, and Whitfield Hearth Products in 1998, then Earth Stove and Security Chimneys in 1999 and Country Stoves in 2006. In 2000 the unit was renamed Lennox Hearth Products. Lennox sold it to private equity firm Comvest in April 2012, and that September it merged with FMI Products to form Innovative Hearth Products. TRM Equity acquired IHP's assets in January 2023. IHP is based in Russellville, Alabama.

The Find a Pro directory lists Pro Grill Verified companies that work on Lennox fireplaces. Search by your ZIP code to find one near you.

Does Lennox still make fireplaces?

No. Lennox International sold its hearth business in 2012, and it became part of Innovative Hearth Products, which now sells fireplaces as Astria, Superior, and IronStrike.

Can I still get parts for my Lennox fireplace?

Yes, in most cases. Many Lennox parts are shared with Superior and Astria models and are sold by hearth parts distributors; have the model and serial number from the rating plate ready.

Should I repair or replace an old Lennox gas fireplace?

If the firebox and venting are sound, replacing the pilot, valve, or thermopile is usually cheaper than replacing the unit. A tech can inspect it and tell you whether parts are still available.
