Napoleon Grill & Fireplace Repair & Service
Family-owned Canadian maker of gas and charcoal grills, fireplaces, inserts and stoves.
About Napoleon
Napoleon is a family-owned Canadian manufacturer that makes both grills and home heating products. On the grill side it sells portable, freestanding and built-in gas grills (Rogue, Prestige, Prestige PRO and built-in series), plus charcoal and electric grills. On the hearth side it makes gas fireplaces, gas and wood inserts, wood stoves and electric fireplaces.
Napoleon covers a wide price span. Rogue grills are mid-range, while Prestige PRO and the built-in lines reach premium prices, and its fireplaces run from mid-range inserts to large linear models. Buyers include homeowners shopping at grill and hearth stores who want one well-known brand with dealer support.
History
Wolfgang and Ingrid Schroeter started Wolf Steel in Barrie, Ontario, in 1976 as a steel railing business. They moved into wood stoves, adding a cast iron stove with a glass door, and their stoves spread across Canada and the U.S. In 1995 they added gas grills, and the Napoleon name grew from there. The company opened European offices around 2010 and later added gas furnaces and HVAC. In 2018 the founders retired and their sons Christopher and Stephen Schroeter became co-CEOs. It remains privately owned.
