Superior Fireplaces Fireplace Repair & Service

Builder-friendly line of gas, wood, vent-free and outdoor fireplaces from Innovative Hearth Products.

About Superior Fireplaces

Superior Fireplaces is one of the main brands of Innovative Hearth Products (IHP), alongside Astria, IronStrike and Comfort Flame. Its range is broad: direct vent, B-vent and vent-free gas fireplaces, wood-burning fireplaces, gas inserts, gas log sets, electric fireplaces, outdoor gas and wood fireplaces, and kits for manufactured homes.

Superior sits in the entry to mid part of the market. It is a staple for home builders and contractors in new construction, and its outdoor vent-free and wood-burning fireboxes are common in patio and outdoor kitchen projects. Many units are sold as a firebox only, with the burner, logs and front picked separately. Because so many were installed in tract homes over the years, Superior fireplaces are among the most common units a hearth tech is called to repair.

History

Superior Fireplace Company was an independent manufacturer before Lennox Hearth Products, a Lennox International division formed in 1994, bought it in 1998 along with several other hearth makers. In September 2012 Lennox Hearth Products merged with FMI Products to form Innovative Hearth Products, based in Nashville. Production of Superior products moved from Union City, Tennessee, to IHP's plant in Russellville, Alabama, and the brand continues as IHP's main builder-focused line.
