Viking Grill Repair & Service

Pro-style kitchen appliance brand whose outdoor line centers on the 5 Series gas grill.

About Viking

Viking is best known for professional-style indoor ranges, and it also sells outdoor gas grills and outdoor kitchen pieces. The current outdoor lineup is built around the Professional 5 Series grill, offered built-in or on a cart in 30, 36, 42 and 54 inch widths, with cast brass burners, a ProSear infrared burner and a rotisserie.

Viking outdoor grills sit in the luxury tier. Buyers are often homeowners who already have Viking appliances indoors and want the outdoor kitchen to match. Since both brands are owned by Middleby, the current Viking grills share much of their design and engineering with Lynx. Owners of older Viking grills, such as the discontinued E-Series and T-Series, still need regular service, and some original parts are now hard to find, so repairs sometimes call for aftermarket or upgraded parts.

History

Fred Carl Jr., a contractor in Greenwood, Mississippi, designed a professional-style range for home kitchens, incorporated Viking in 1984 and sold the first range in 1987. Production moved to Greenwood in 1990, and Viking added refrigerators in 1996 and outdoor gas grills in 1997. Middleby Corporation bought Viking for $380 million at the start of 2013. Since then, Viking's outdoor grills have been built using Lynx designs and engineering, and older E-Series and T-Series grills have been discontinued.
