Weber Grill Repair & Service

The Illinois company behind the kettle grill, now selling gas, charcoal, pellet and griddle cookers at every price.

About Weber

Weber is the best-known backyard grill brand in the US. It started with the round charcoal kettle and now covers gas grills, pellet grills, flat-top griddles, smokers and portable units. Most homeowners meet Weber at a hardware store or big box retailer, and many techs see more Weber grills on service calls than any other brand.

The lineup runs from entry to upper-mid. Kettles and Spirit gas grills are the affordable end, Genesis is the mid-range workhorse, and Summit is the top line, including built-in heads for outdoor kitchens. Weber is not a luxury built-in brand like the stainless names sold only through outdoor kitchen dealers, but parts support is wide and grills tend to last a long time with basic care.

History

Weber traces back to Weber Brothers Metal Works, a Chicago-area sheet metal shop. In 1952 George Stephen Sr., a part owner, cut a metal buoy in half to build a domed charcoal grill, which became the Weber kettle. The Stephen family later took over the company and expanded into gas grills. BDT Capital Partners bought a majority stake in 2010. Weber went public on the NYSE in 2021, bought smart-oven maker June that year, and was taken private again by BDT in 2023 in a deal valued around $3.7 billion.

Questions about Weber

Who services Weber grills near me?

The Find a Pro directory lists Pro Grill Verified companies that clean and repair Weber grills. Search by your ZIP code to see who covers your area.

Where are Weber grills made?

It depends on the model. Kettles are made in Huntley, Illinois, and some Summit and Genesis grills are assembled in the US with global parts, while Spirit grills are made in China. The label on each grill lists its origin.

Why is my Weber gas grill not getting hot?

The most common causes are a regulator in bypass mode, clogged burner ports, or a worn regulator and hose. Shutting all valves, resetting the tank and cleaning the burners fixes many cases; otherwise a tech can test gas flow and replace parts.

Can I build a Weber into an outdoor kitchen?

Yes. Weber sells Summit built-in heads made to drop into an island cutout. Check the cutout dimensions and ventilation requirements in the installation guide before building.
